The Question
One of my friends asked me: “My sister (40 year old) and her husband live in a metro. Both have different job timings. So husband comes late at 1 o’clock and my sister leaves office at 10 am. The morning chores are done by a maid. So they take dinner at 1.30 night and sleep by 3 night. My sister takes 5 to 6 hours sleep daily or maybe less. Please guide me some health channels on youtube or any routine that can help my sister some time for light exercise. And some channels for inner transformation regarding healthy life Her other issues are cervical pain and she cannot walk fast (due to past leg injury, for which she is taking advice from a professional). "
Questions I asked
Q1. Is this asking for advice from you or your sister? A1. It was asked through sister’s mother. [That makes it sister –> mother –> nephew –> friend (me)]. If the person herself wasn’t asking, then the chances that any (unsolicited) advice would be followed drop to Zero.
Q2. What kind of work she does? A2. Some marketing system (not computer / desk work apparently which could be important for her cervical pain).
Q3. What about lunch? A3. Done properly, at time.
My thought process
- Chances of any advice at 3 points of separation would be followed = zero.
- The only littlest chance is to give it absolutely short.
- The night time of 1.30am to 3.00am was non-negotiable, because that was the only proper time for the couple to have an “us” time. In which they would take a meal also. The husband can complete his sleep in morning while wife cannot because she has to leave. Possibly, chronic less sleep, which may contribute to cervical pain.
- She could have a short nap (90 min) - 1 sleep cycle without going into deep sleep.
The answer I gave
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRxf9PdnxgA one video for basic mobility and strength. for women.
- One physical book which you can gift without any lecture. Eat Move Sleep by Tom Rath
- She can have dinner at 9pm and then a light snack at 1.30am with husband - so that they can continue to have their meal and she doesn’t feel bloated.
- She can have a strictly (alarm set) 90 min sleep (not more than that) when she reaches back to home at say 7.30-9pm.
What I would add now
Nothing. The four points are actually unsolicited and more than what is needed in this case, IMHO.
